Popped by the Curve in the afternoon after having lunch and headed straight to Borders there.
And I went crazy in Borders today. I kid you not.
I was literally on a book frenzy.
It could be because i haven't been buying books for such a long time already, that when faced with suchs good deals for books that i've been hearing so much about, i couldn't but help splurge on it!
I stepped in and faced the table that had the '3 for 2' books.
And within a minute, i already had 4 books in my arms :P
Carried the pile of books with me and browsed some more to see what other interesting books i could find at the place. I think I must've looked like such a nerd >.<
I would reach out for books without a second thought and before i knew it, i was lugging around 9 books with me :P
But that was one too many, so i only got 8 books, two of which were presents to really good friends!
(i think i've said this before, but don't books just make the best of presents!)
Damage done = RM 230. I'm using this as a treat to myself for my good results, and it's books! I mean, as opposed to buying other stuff, i think this is a much better way to treat oneself! =)
Also best to stock up nicely with books first so that i will always have something to read when in uni!
I mentioned how buying books is so much more fulfilling than buying clothes sometimes and my guyfriend couldn't believe that he heard that, especially coming from a girl LOL!
Did a little bit more shopping before i came home for a quick dinner, shower and then head back out to the Curve (again) to chill at Laundry Bar for a while before catching The Dark Knight at Cineleisure Platinum!
Ok, anyone who knows me knows that I don't drink beer. I don't like how it is bitter and hard to drink. And also because it hits you right at your glands below your cheek and it makes you (or at least me) cringe >.<
But seeing that this was the only thing the guys were drinking, i decided to give it a try, again.
I cringed, again and mentioned that it was bitter. So they told me that i shouldn't sip it, but take big gulps.
So take big gulps, i did.
And it wasn't that bad. I guess it just takes some getting used to. Especially the part where it is just really gassy and a tad bitter.
But i would still take a whiskey coke any day :p
Headed over to Cineleisure Platinum (Platinum is like the Gold Class of Cineleisure) after that for the movie and every part of it (the place and the movie) was awesome!
The place is a small theatre of 24 big, plush, comfy, reclinable seats with excellent butler-like services provided. They serve you food in your seats! All you have to do is order before or during the movie.
I was sitting on the front row and i was so afraid that it'll be so close to the screens that i wouldn't enjoy it. but despite it being the front row, i didn't have any trouble watching the movie at all, all thanks to the (electrically) reclinable seats! :D Visual was good, audio was good too!
As for the movie, it was superb and bloody excellent. The flow of the movie was really smooth and i personally think it was better than Batman Begins. I won't spoil it for you guys, but all i can say is that they really couldn't have picked a better person to play the Joker than Heath Ledger!
I really think that the movie couldn't be as good were it not for his acting as the Joker. It was so good that i actually felt psychologically afraid of him (watch it and you'll know what i mean).
You guys *have* to watch it!
Popped by Sanctuary for a while after for Yih Lin's Birthday celebration. Caught up with the girls there a little bit, danced a little (Thursday night at Sanctuary = good music!) before calling it a night.
Feeling rather talkative right now, hence the long blog post. Also it's to make up for my relatively long absence from here :p
Well, since the last post, i've played paintball in a multi-storey carpark, been waking up at 3 in the afternoon, met up with classmates from my primary school whom i haven't seen for ages and been enjoying the last week of holiday a lot! :)
That's about it. Time to sleep for me. There's a nice sweeping, cool breeze tonight and i reckon i'll be having a good night's sleep because of it :)
Good night Voxers!
1. Dan is back
2. I'm going to Italy in August
3. We're going to Spain in September
i've got two babies to add on to my current existing baby. added into the family is my fisheye2 white knight (last three weeks back) and today my nikon d60!
happy happy!!
sorry la. no pictures of them yet la. they are still in their boxes. using the fisheye2 but i still keep it in the box after using until i find something that fits to carry it around.
Results are out and i'm satisfied! Today's gonna be a good day for me! =D
Now the only thing left for me to do is to make sure that i enjoy the one last, crucial week of holidays i have left to bits before going back for another crazy semester!
Wheee!
p.s. Darlings where are all of you? I wanna go celebrate but i refuse to celebrate without you all! Me is missing you guys! =(
i think i understand now what the paintballers mean when they say that Isi Rimba can really tire you out.
because i slept for 14 hours right after i posted up the previous post o.O
i didn't even realize that i was that tired!
(ok perhaps falling asleep while watching the Wimbledon finals was a good indication >.<)
i told Alvin about sleeping for 14 hours and he said that that must be some kinda record lol.
on a more scary note, just checked my uni website (after a good one and a half months of staying away from it) only to find a nice, bright blue announcement there saying that results for the previous semester will be released this Friday at 10am.
so you'll either see me smiling, jumping, grinning, laughing and bloody happy, or gloomy, depressed and sulky as hell on Friday night.
let's hope it's the former.
meh, i'm scared =/
After covering the Prefects' Reunion at KL Tower for Ying (which was splendidly carried out! Great job babe!) , and getting only 4 hours of sleep, I ended up at Isi Rimba for another round of paintball! =D
and this time, Chin Yew, Sze Ping and Evan followed me. And i went with gear kindly lent to me by Doug!
And i'm glad to say that after hiking up some hills, running through the jungle and almost getting stuck in thorns, hugging a tree covered with ants (which almost resulted in me being covered in ants), a lot of crouching, squatting, sliding and hiding behind trees, plentiful of shooting, tripping over a bamboo and landing superman style, a large dose of adrenaline, and some few bruises later, i survived! =D
Isi Rimba was really much better than i expected! I've been hearing stories about how tough Isi Rimba can get and stories of people falling off the hill and ending up with concussions (okay it was only the one guy that ended up like that la lol), people getting stuck in mud and all. so i went there really expecting the worst. I was so afraid that the jungle would be so thick that i'd have to struggle just to get through it, but turns out it was quite okay. It's challenging, but not impossible.
The scenarios that we played (save the hostage and capture the flag) were fair and simple for both sides. I enjoyed today much much more than i did the last time i played paintball! The combination of jungle, stealth and guns was just right. and the smaller group of people that we had today made me feel more at home :) and it was more organized as well.
We won three of the four rounds that we played! not bad right? :D
After the scenarios, we had some extra pellets left so we all went to the speedball field to finish it off. and i happily shot out about 3 or 4 people in two 3 on 3 game. damn satisfying considering i only shot out 1 fella in the jungle :p
but it was also in the speedball field that i got a nasty bruise on my left ribs. i really forgot how painful speedball injuries were man.
I probably didn't hide the fact that i was in pain also (i think i was shouting out 'ouch! shit damn pain! damn pain!' repeatedly :p) because the guy who shot me actually came over to apologise lol!
so nice right? he actually felt bad for shooting me.
that is until i shot him 6 times in the following game :p
but all in good fun!
after all, what's paintball without a few bruises to show people right? ;)
Must make it a point to return to Isi Rimba one more time before heading back to uni!
I'm off to get some well-deserved, glorious sleep now. Hope that everyone had as fun a Sunday as i did! :)
Nights everyone!
watching three movies in the cinema in a day doesn't tire you out, you're wrong lol.
Yesterday afternoon was spent watching Wanted and The Bank Job with Sesha, Sze Ping, Chin Yew, Sze May and Evan. Headed back home after that for dinner with mom and dad before heading out again to Mid Valley for Get Smart with fellow paintballers, Doug, Alvin, Alvin (no typo here. there were two Alvins there lol), Diana, Pat and Andre.
Reached home around 2 after that and i crashed on the bed nicely. Weather was just cool and breezy the whole morning and i had one of the best sleeps ever.
This weekend's gonna be insane as well because i'll be photographing my ex-school's Prefects Reunion on Saturday Night and the whole of Sunday will be spent paintballing. insane but fun!
Okay i have no idea what to write already.
Nights Voxers!
